Tan Lay Teng


Lay Teng is a qualified engineer with an Honours Degree from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She has also obtained her Professional certificate in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing in the year 2012. As an independent market researcher and insights specialist, Lay Teng has more than 15 valuable years of working experience and professional engagement in customized research, handling both qualitative and quantitative research.

She is a professional trained in managing both qualitative and quantitative research. She moderates and analyzes focus group discussions / in-depth interviews / home visits and accompanied shopping research. She has multi-lingual skills and converses fluently in Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese), English as well as Malay.

Hajar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Biotechnology from Universiti Malaysia Pahang. She has professional experience in the consulting and market research field, with prior experience working with the government and clients from various industries.

She has tackled the skills of moderating online focus group discussion and interview, analyzing data and contents, understanding consumer behaviour and attitude as well as evaluating brand equity.
